The CTP Convergence Technologies course is 12 hours of classroom instruction. The Convergence Technologies course is designed to teach students fundamental concepts, standards and practices that combine telephony and data networks into convergence networks. Topics include industry standards and protocols, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and network convergence.
This course will teach the vendor-independent networking skills and concepts required for professionals in the information technology or telecommunications industry. This course will also help to prepare students for the Convergence Technologies portion of the CTP 2007 exam.
Effective August 11, 2009, BICSI recognizes Convergence Technologies Professional (CTP) - Convergence Technologies training for 12 BICSI Continuing Education Credits (CECs). Course trainers must issue a certificate of course completion at the conclusion of the class. The certificate must include the completion date, the course title, and the number of CECs approved. It should be made clear to your course attendees that BICSI CECs are issued ONLY to BICSI credential holders.
