CTP Certification Enters Nortel Certification Track
CTP is now accepted by Nortel as part of the requirements for earning the NCTS (Nortel Certified Technology Specialist) certification.
Nortel is a leading provider of networking technology solutions and was one of the original members of the CTP advisory committee. The CTP certification is now an accepted replacement for Nortel's Converged IP Telephony Solutions certification, one of three NCTS specializations. Additionally, the CTP exam replaces Nortel's Technology Standards and Protocols for IP Telephony Solutions exam.
Both CTP and Nortel's Converged IP Telephony Solutions certifications validate understanding of the standards and protocols associated with planning, designing and deploying converged IP solutions.
CTP tests the following areas of Converged IP Telephony Solutions knowledge and skills:
- Major Components of VoIP
- VoIP Network Design Considerations
- Transport and Session Layer Technologies
- Implementing Quality of Service
- WLAN Convergence Issues
- VoIP Standardization and Signaling Protocols
